Sundays, Le Tigre, and Prosopopeia

Sometimes when I wake up on Sunday mornings I am relieved that it’s gloomy out. Sounds depressing but really it’s because then I don’t have to feel so guilty when I decide to go see a matinee on a craptacular day. Yesterday started out promising, but like typical Seattle “summer” days, the clouds burned off and by the time 2:30 rolled around, it was sunny and 70 out. I only felt a little guilty and then didn’t feel guilty at all after I saw Reprise— a Norwegian film about two best friends— writers who submit their books simultaneously, and how their lives take different directions, both good and bad. One becomes an instant star and then has a breakdown, the other struggles and finds success later— yet this is just all part of life. The movie is wonderfully edited (duh, reprise?), set to new wave pop sounds, and according to Morgan, will make you want to go to Oslo (not the clothing store, but the city). Check it out.
